Dental bonding is a cosmetic procedure that uses a composite material to repair minor dental problems such as chips, gaps, cracks, and stains.
The Dental Bonding Process
It all starts with a consultation, but the procedure itself can take place in one visit, taking roughly just an hour or two complete. Your dentist will decide whether dental bonding or a veneer is the right approach, and then go from there. From there, your dentist will evealuate your current teeth and reference those to choose the shape, colour, and shade of the material so it looks as natural as possible.
Once the materials have been chosen, your teeth are cleaned and a bonding solution will be applied. The resin is then placed over top and scupted by the dentist so fill in the desired gap or chip. Finally, the tooth will be polished and tested to see if the composite had adhered to the tooth completely.
